Book Club #5 (Lit Wits Kids Book Club)
Meets every Wednesday from 4:00-5:15 PM
We are so excited to announce our first book club for young people! The new group, which we are calling Lit Wits, will meet every Wednesday from 4pm - 5:15. Rather than reading a book at home to discuss when together, they will read a book together at their meetings. The club is the brainchild of educator Mary Crowe who has recently moved from the Atlanta area to Burke County. The first meeting of Lit Wits will be on September 9th, and their first book will be Newberry award winner "The War That Saved My Life" by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley. We expect it will take about a month of meetings to finish the book. Participation is limited to 10 young people and is open to 4th through 8th grades. (We suggest you take a look at the first book to see if the reading level is right for your child. We have copies in the store.) Though there is no charge to attend, we need for you to register your child in order to get a head count. Contact [email protected].
