Perfume: The Invisible Art on June 23, 2022, 6 p.m.

On Thursday, June 23 at 6pm, Thornwell Books will present a special seminar, "Perfume: The Invisible Art" led by Ellen Collett, who many of you may have met when she facilitated our Tarot card reading event. Did you know the human sense of smell is the only one of the five senses that science still does not understand? Or that our ability to decode the world through smell has radically declined as humans have evolved? But our sense of smell is also the only one of the five that can actually be restored. We can reconnect our noses to our brains through active sniffing and the best way to start this is by smelling deliberately combined scent molecules, in this case, perfumes.

Join us for a workout of our noses and the opportunity to smell some of the world's strangest and most iconic scents. We'll smell a circus, a Texas barbecue, the Pacific Ocean and a wet garden after the rain. We'll smell a Buddhist temple, Christmas morning and your ex-boyfriend's unwashed linen shirt.
