Thursday, October 28, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Tarot Readings with Ellen Collett

The Tarot  is a set of 78 images on individual cards which, when taken together, depict all the forces that affect human life, along with all the people, events, emotions and ideas that compose human life. It’s a visual language composed from symbols. An illustrated map to an archetypal realm of imagination. A tool that allows us to access our own unconscious minds.

Join Thornwell Books for an evening that will explore the history of these fascinating, ancient cards, offer an overviewing of their meaning and how to decode them, and provide a hands-on demonstration of how you can use the cards in your daily life.

Our tarot guide for the evening will be author and former Hollywood producer, Ellen Collett. She has been reading cards for thirty years, for private clients and groups. Her last card-adventure in Burke County was a charity fundraiser for Blue Ridge Healthcare Foundation. Over the years she has amassed a vast library on the history of Tarot and its uses in modern psychoanalysis and personal growth. She collects Tarot decks. Her current favorite is the gorgeous African-American Tarot now available at TB.

Though all decks are welcome, participants will be working from the traditional Ryder Waite deck which is the most widely-used and on which most all scholarship and workbooks are based. Ideally everyone should have this deck to use since workshop is hands-on. You can purchase this deck at Thornwell Books prior to the workshop. Limited Availability.
