Author Talk & Book Signing with Major John Von Rohr on May 20, 2026, 6 p.m.

On Wednesday, May 20th at 6pm, join us for a book talk and signing with Major John Von Rohr. In this semiquincentennial year of celebrating the founding of America, Major Von Rohr has been writing weekly columns in The Paper about the American Revolution. In February, he published his first historical novel, "Ghosts of the Revolutionary War", about a man who travels back in time to 1780 and learns about the Battle of Kings Mountain and its importance in the struggle for American independence. Major Von Rohr, who is a descendant of the McDowell family who lived at Quaker Meadows, bases his book on his own genealogical research.
